Get a closer look at Hinduism's entrancing prayers by taking advantage of this comprehensive package from Haridwar. The temples are encircled by the majestic, river-flowing Himalayas. Start this excursion at Haridwar and travel to Barkot, the halfway point between Gangotri and Yamunotri. Yamunotri, the Hindu shrine where the Goddess Yamuna is housed, is located in the Garhwal Himalayas at an altitude of 3,293 metres (10,804 feet). Gangotri is a town in the Indian state of Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi district.
This Hindu pilgrimage centre sits on the river Bhagirathi, which is the source of the Ganges. Moving on to the famed Kedarnath temple, which is almost 1,200 years old and is situated in the Garhwal Himalayan range next to the Mandakini river.
